The last 3 days in Chennai went by like a dream, filled with lots of happy young faces, talks of Tamil superheroes wearing coats and 3 piece suits ( and the not-to-be-missed designer specs ) and meet-ups with colleagues in the field. The whole 3-day programme was organized by Nalandaway, an NGO, working for the welfare and uplift of poor children. This was part of a series of workshops on various forms of art for teachers and students in July organized by this NGO.
Our 3 day programme, started off at Sunshine School on Day 1 and finally held at Max Mueller Bhavan for 2 days, was titled ‘Superheroes: Creating a Graphic Novel’, and the 3 of us involved in this was Jai Undurti, Aditya Bidikar and myself. I have been collaborating with Jai for more than 2 years now over ‘the Hyderabad Graphic Novel’ a series of comics that can be found at this url – http://hgnp.wordpress.com/read/
We met some nice folks from the NGO – Varsha, Ashokha, Shankar and others who helped us through the workshop and explained how the NGO was helping young children and more importantly helped us to connect to the children. My very best wishes to these folks and may their work live on.
I’m attaching some photos that were taken during our 3 days in Chennai. 🙂
