Here are two pages of a potential graphic novel I started a couple of days back. Don’t know if i’ll continue ( it’s so darn complex, and the heat in Kolkata has fried my brain cells ). Still, here are the pages… enjoy!
Here’s the gist of the comic.
The story deals with a young man ( around 27 years old ) who often goes off into trances. He meets up with his spiritual guru – Swami Vivekananda – in these trances, having long discourses with him about the meaning of life and other such philosophical matters.
Of course, he has never met the great Wandering Monk ( Vivekananda, I mean ) in the flesh – but he has heard and read a lot about him. And he has made the Great Swamiji his own spiritual friend, philosopher and guide.
In one of these spiritual perambulations where the story opens, the guide and guided find themselves accosted by a third party – Mr. George W. Hale ( those familiar with Swami Vivekananda’s life would know of this gentleman – one of the friends he had in Boston, and whose house became his permanent residence in the United States when he had travelled thither to attend the Parliament of Religions ).
Together they discuss a lot of interesting issues, and reminisce on the good ol’ days, with our protagonist piping up now and then with queries.
